MRI Construction: A Contractor Selection Guide - Coaching

Selecting the Best Contractor for your MRI Construction Project - MRI Consultant Coaching Module #8

Professional guidance in choosing a knowledgeable builder or remodeling contractor for your MRI imaging Center.

MRI construction project: Contractor selection. Experience in MRI projects for Private Practice and Medical Office settings is key.

In this MRI consultant coaching module, we will discuss the selection of a contractor for your MRI construction project. The goal is to avoid wasted time and expensive rework. Our professional guidance will give you the information you need to:

1. Work with your architect to gather the most recent national and regional build-out data for your MRI Imaging Center project. This data should include builder/construction costs per square foot and align with your needs and desired build-out. Use this information to create an estimated range of construction costs for the project.

2. Collaborate with the architect to complete preliminary MRI Imaging Center space planning and design documents that reflect your intentions for the project. Discuss with your architect the timeline for producing and delivering these documents.

3. If you have previously prepared an MRI Imaging Center Financial and Business Viability Analysis, consider updating it.

4. Work with the architect and client to identify the community's three most suitable medical building construction firms. If the project is smaller, discuss identifying three regional businesses that have completed medical office or MRI  remodeling projects.

5. With the architect, send out a communication and invitation to bid on the project to the identified construction firms. Arrange interview dates with the prospective construction companies interested in bidding on the MRI construction project.

6. Develop an interview framework and tools for evaluating the potential builders for your MRI construction project.

7. Conduct interviews with the MRI contractor candidates, involving the architect and MRI project clients.

8. Evaluate the builder responses and build-out quotes and review any AIA documents the prospective MRI Contractors returned.

9. Address any additional questions you may have.
