Delivery/Ramp Up - Full Service
Delivery and Ramp up of your MRI Magnet - Module #18
(Please also review the previous section #14, Pre-Planning for the Delivery and Site Placement of your MRI Magnet, they support one another)
There are few days as exciting when you build and develop your MRI Imaging Center, then the day the MRI semitrailer truck delivering your MRI Magnet, has parked in your parking area the afternoon before with your crated MRI magnet, and normally early the next morning, the 80 ton Heavy Lift Crane and crew arrive to bring it to your MRI Magnet room, via the knock out wall entrance portal. The knockout removable wall has been taken down the day before by your building contractor, and the knockout wall area is covered by plywood sheeting and waterproofed materials, screwed in place. The RF Shield in the magnet room of your MRI Imaging Center, will have been tested for effectivity and ground isolation. The afternoon of the day before, orange construction cones will have been put into place with additional yellow construction tape indicating areas not to be traversed. The 80 ton Heavy Lift Crane and Crew (Millwrights), will very carefully uncrate the MRI Magnet and pick up and remove the MRI Magnet from the bed of the semitrailer truck that had arrived from the manufacturer. It will be guided on to the top of four hydraulic jacks with wheels, set on top of a large steel plate, and very slowly guided into the MRI Magnet room which has been pre-cleaned. The MRI unit will be set down onto the RF shielded floor in the exact identified location and lowered onto the Docking Anchor Mounts. The MRI supplier will have a project engineer staff member on hand to ensure the proper positioning of the Isocenter of the MRI Magnet, and the proper positioning to connect to the Cryogen Venting ductwork, as well review the MRI floor dock anchoring. Measurements will be taken to ensure the MRI is positioned in the exact location planned for in all siting documents.
The knockout wall will be rebuilt to completed room standards, with a RF shielding repair on the knockout wall seams, and finished fully over the next one to two week period. Engineers will then work to set up the MRI fully and top it off with Helium as well. A set number of days will be identified until the MRI unit is fully operational and capable of patient scanning, normally 4-6 weeks after initial delivery (will be refined as the process unfolds). In the interim, the MRI supplier will be very busy accepting additional equipment deliveries, un-crating equipment, building out the MRI, and finally, bringing the MRI to full functionality.
There is a great amount of detailed work underway, and being scheduled by a number of individuals, and your MRI Magnet is on track to your “GO Live” Date that is coming soon. More to come.
In this Consultation and Assistance Module we will address
*Creation of , and discussion of a comprehensive final checklist of readiness steps for MRI “GO LIVE.” You have 4 weeks, 6 weeks max, but together we can get everything carefully identified and in place prior to GO LIVE. This is a critical checklist and we can pound it out together based on your individual site and business information, and our experience.
Failure to do this can result in expensive delays and rework. Do not miss this one! There is a great deal to do in a short period of time but we can help make it happen!
