Consultation and Assistance - Module #15
How to meet your Imaging Center staffing needs, set job descriptions, make available positions known, find solid applicants in your clinical community, interview and be prepared to hire needed key employees.
In this Coaching and As Needed Consultation and Assistance Module that you can select for this Imaging Center Project area, we will discuss;
- Are you an existing Medical Practice Group (or ASC) adding MRI, or an IDTF, or other?
- Type, Age, and make of MRI Magnet you will be implementing; Manufacturer name, new/refurbished, Extremity, 1.5T, 3.0 T.
- Review of the number of MRI scans you anticipate performing per year.
- Review the breakdown of the MRI scan groupings that you anticipate performing per year; MRI only, MRI with Contrast, MRI with and Without Contrast. (Ok if you do not know)
- Review, Discuss Estimate of number of MRI scan hours in a year.
- Review, discuss how to estimate staffing requirements for Front Office and MRI Technologists. Full-time, Part-time, PRN.
- How many days per week, hours per week, weeks per year do you anticipate being open?
- In what community will your MRI Imaging Center be located?
- Discussion of the prevailing community wage for MRI Technologists and Front Office Personnel in your community. Will your employment package offer monies similar and consistent with the prevailing community wage?
- Discussion of various Staffing and Service Delivery Models; Patient Check in and Check out at the Medical Practice Front Desk, Separate MRI Center Entity patient Check In and Check out process. Front Office Staff member patient check in and out, as well as taking the patient to the locker room, provide them with a gown and locker key. Technologist Scan and patient instructions and education.
- Extensive discussion, How to find and retain, High Quality MRI Technologists and Front Office Personnel.
- Discussion of need for employee job descriptions.
- Hiring a Center Manager or not, and why not.
